The Art Of Cornwall - An Exhibition In Cirencester
By admin | September 17, 2009
The Wonderwall Gallery in Cirencester opens its annual ‘Art of Cornwall’ exhibition on Saturday 3rd October, featuring the work of some of the leading contemporary artists working in Cornwall. This exciting exhibition includes new work by eight highly accomplished painters, including Paul Geraghty, Nicholas St.John Rosse, Michael Hill, Sophie Harding and Richard Lodey. Also in the exhibition are the paintings of the renowned artist Simon Hart. The subject matter of Simon’s work has mainly focused on his love of Cornish fishing villages and harbours. He is drawn towards the brightly painted fishing boats and houses which provide such a wonderful contrast against the natural tones of the surrounding landscape. The work of the St Ives School of artists in particular has been a major influence on his work. ‘We are delighted to be once again hosting this fine exhibition’, commented Wonderwall Gallery owner David Bloomfield. ‘The quality and diversity of Cornish art is astounding and it is a privilege to be once again showing paintings from some of Cornwall’s most exceptional artists here in Cirencester.’ The Wonderwall Gallery is at 7 Gosditch Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire and is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10.00am to 5.00pm. 01285 650555 www.thewonderwallgallery.com The exhibition continues until October 17th.
